Zhi-Hua Zhou is a professor in the Department of Computer Science & Technology atNanjing University. He is also adjunct professor at Hong Kong University of Science and Technologyand several other universities. He obtained all his degrees from Nanjing University.His main research interests include artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining andpattern recognition. In these areas he has published over 80 papers in leading internationaljournals or conference proceedings. He is associate editor-in-chief of Chinese Science Bulletin,lead area editor of Journal of Computer Science and Technology, associate editor of IEEETransactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering and ACM Transactions on Intelligent Systemsand Technology, and on the editorial boards of a number of other journals. He is thefounding steering committee co-chair of ACML, and steering committee member of PAKDDand PRICAI. He served as program committee chair/co-chair for PAKDD’07, PRICAI’08 and ACML’09, vice chairor area chair or Senior Program Committee Member for many conferences such as ACM KDD’10, ECML PKDD’10,ICPR’10, SIAM DM’09, ACM CIKM’09, IEEE ICDM’08, etc. He is the chair of the Machine Learning Societyof the Chinese Association of Artificial Intelligence, vice chair of the Artificial Intelligence & Pattern RecognitionSociety of the China Computer Federation, and the chair of the IEEE Computer Society Nanjing Chapter.
Hang Li is a senior researcher and research manager at Microsoft Research Asia. Heis also adjunct professor at Peking University, Nanjing University, Xian Jiaotong University,and Nankai University. His research areas include information retrieval, natural languageprocessing, statistical machine learning, and data mining. He graduated from Kyoto Universityand earned his Ph.D. degree from the University of Tokyo. He has about 100 publications ininternational journals and conferences. He is associate editor of ACM Transaction on AsianLanguage Information Processing and is area editor of Journal for Computer and ScienceTechnology. His recent academic activities include program committee co-chair of WSDM’11,program committee co-chair of EMNLP’10, senior program committee members of WSDM’10,ACM KDD’10 and ACM SIGIR’10, area chairs of ACL’10 and ACML’10. He has been workingon development of several products. These include NEC TopicScope, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Microsoft Office2007, Microsoft Live Search 2008, Microsoft Bing 2009, and Microsoft Office 2010.
