Self-Adaptive Clock Synchronization for Computational Grid

  • This paper presents an innovative method to synchronizephysical clocks for a computational grid, in particular for acomputational grid linked through the asynchronous Intranet or Internetenvironments. The method discussed is an asynchronous self-adaptiveclock synchronization mechanism. Two strategies for clocksynchronisation are introduced. (1) Use continuous time intervals tocalculate the precision of clocks, which can reduce the effect ofnetwork delay efficiently. (2) Every node synchronizes its clock withits leader actively. In addition, a node self-adaptive model is presented, and therelationship between the clock precision and synchronization time isinduced, hence a node can predict when it should begin thesynchronization process. Detailed simulation and extension of this issueare provided at the end of the paper. The presented model is bothpractical and feasible.
